The Princess and the Pea
10 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011
Houston Grand Opera’s Opera to Go! presents the Princess and the Pea. This comic opera retells the classic Hans Christian Andersen story of a heart-sick Prince searching for love in all the wrong places, his cantankerous mother, and a beautiful Princess, who against all odds finds her way into the hearts of the Kingdom.
All children’s concerts are FREE and no tickets will be distributed.
This project is supported in part by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts.

I was wondering if you present programs during the weekday for childcare events. We would love to bring or Prekindergarteners to see The Princess and the Pea.
Thank you, Jennifer
Jennifer, call and ask! I know my 3rd grader is going there during school to see it
Ladies,
We present a program called Klein Art Days. It’s a partnership with Klein ISD, Cypress Creek FACE, the Barbara Bush Library, the Pearl Fincher Museum and the Cypress Creek Christian Community Center to provide an exposure to the arts – performing, visual, & literary. Klein buses their 3rd grade students to our campus for a field trip that includes a performance in The Centrum, tours of the museum & library, and then lunch in the community center.
Jennifer – We have worked with area schools to bring in additional shows but haven’t had much response the last few years. Transportation regulations were tightened for the schools and its become difficult for many to transport their students. In any case, we are always happy to explore the opportunity.
Thank you,
Nanci Decker
