The Four Freshmen pioneered a revolutionary new style of close-harmony vocals that set the stage for bands like the Beach Boys, Spanky & Our Gang, the Manhattan Transfer, Take 6 and countless others.

Created in 1948 at Butler University The Four Freshmen are the longest lasting vocal harmony group. Today the group consists of Bob Ferreira playing drums and singing down low as the bass voice, Brian Eichenberger singing lead voice playing guitar and bass, Curtis Calderon singing the second part, playing trumpet and Flugel Horn, and Vince Johnson the baritone voice of the harmony playing bass, guitar and trombone.

In concert they perform seminal Freshmen classics Day By Day and Blue World as well as sharing some of their favorites with new arrangements that include the irresistible force of Something’s Gotta Give, the melodious Skylark, Early Autumn, September Song, and My One and Only Love.

Winners of the 2007 Jazz Times readers poll for Best Vocal Group, their performances incorporate the group’s original hits Day By Day and Blue World, as well as jazzy takes on American classics such as “Route 66,” “Day In, Day Out” and “Angel Eyes.”
