Throughout the late 50s and 60s, the Kingston Trio created a national audience for American folk music, ushering in the “folk revival” that set the stage for artists like Bob Dylan and Peter, Paul & Mary. Since the beginning of the band in 1957, the Trio has had numerous Top 40 hits, including the songs “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?” and “Tom Dooley,” which reached number one on the charts in 1958. In addition, the group has won two Grammy awards and was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2000. Currently, Bill Zorn, George Grove and Rick Dougherty make up the Kingston Trio.
In 1957 The Kingston Trio emerged from San Francisco’s North Beach club scene to take the country by storm, bringing the rich tradition of American folk music into the mainstream for the first time. During the late 50s & early 60s, the Trio enjoyed unprecedented record sales and worldwide fame, while influencing the musical tastes of a generation. Through changing times, the Trio has played on, remaining popular for a simple reason… great songs that sound as good today as the first time you heard them. Almost fifty years after Tom Dooley shot to the top of the charts, the Trio is still on the road thirty weeks a year, bringing back all the great memories and making new ones.

You’ve told me the Kingston Trio will perform. You’ve told me the date, the time, and how much. But, you’ve neglected to tell me where.
Where will this performance take place?
I first saw the notice in the Houston Chronicle. The Chronicle did not mention the location. I’ve visited the website listed in the Chronicle and you also omit the location. What’s up with that?
Regards,
Toby Hendricks.
