Houston Symphony on New Year’s Eve: Concert Photos

Ring in the New Year with class! Join the Houston Symphony and conductor, Brett Mitchell, and a guest violinist at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at The Centrum, 6823 Cypresswood Dr., Spring. The first half of the concert will feature music from “Great Party Scenes” such as Grofé’s “Mardi Gras” from Mississippi Suite, and Strauss’ Overture to Die Fledermaus. The second half will feature “Great Symphonic Jazz” including Duke Ellington!: A Medley for Orchestra and excepts from Gershwin’s An American in Paris.
